While some islands in the Caribbean for its rough atmosphere, Saint Kitts and its people are known to be satisfied with quiet, peaceful and pious. One of the most impressive buildings in St. Kitts is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, a Catholic church, which dates back to the 1920s. Although the cathedral is not yet 100 years old, a number of churches from the colonial period of the earth since the beginning of the 18th century today. The original Catholic cathedral was built on a picturesque plot in 1706. Originally built as the cathedral of Notre-Dame, the French-built structure was known until four years later destroyed by British troops.
